Can't grow anything

Wish I could find a fellow reefer here in Minneapolis that could help without wanting 60 an hour
Are you a member of TCMAS. It is the local twin cities aquarium society. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people there. I live north of Minneapolis. I really have no idea what is up with your tank but I agree lower the light slowly a couple inches a week, all at once would not be good. I don't know which store set up your tank. There are good ones and bad one. I like Saltwater Empire in Bloomington, they have always given me good advise.

Ps. I could be wrong about the light output. Double check, but again IMO looks like lighting isn't enough.

This was 3 polyp frag. Once I want to T5 they grew like crazy.

Throw a T5 fixture in along with that Hydra. I had the same issue with the AI nano, it hardly grew coral for me. Before that I had a cheap eBay t5 fixture with a cheap
Blue LED strip, that combo out performed the AI nano.
I'm about to do a combo like that on my new set up.
Hope that helps.

Are you suggesting a cheap T5? I bought an odyssea from aquatraders and was told by others not to- but I've gotten nothing but good coral growth.

Yup! I think I bought a wave point t5 fixture and wave point led strip.
So cheap that I couldn't even change the bulbs out on the fixture.
I know of reefers using the odyssea fixtures with good results.

Yeah. The odyssea from aquatraders is less expensive. About $100 with built in timer. I just changed the ballasts and switched to ATI BULBS. no issues at all other than having to reset the clock every couple of months. Great for a budget.

I did some research and looks like the 26 noted above puts out about 170 watts. I would go more light as well.

Perhaps this was said already but most people have their lights anywhere from 6" to -12" above the water. It also depends on how tall your tank is.

My tank is 21" tall and I'm running AI VEGAS. My lights set about 8" above the water.

All blues are at 100 percent and white is 60, green 25 and red 15
