If my life depended on it. Bought a very nice jedi mind trick, kept it low in the tank and still there after 3 weeks it is browning up.

Tank parameters:
salinity 1.26
alk 8.1 and stable
cal 425
mag 1350
nitrate 5
phosphates .043

Dipped it was i first got it, and than again after a week or so. Nothing fell off of it.

What kind of lighting do you have it under? I have a leng sy cap that was brown for about a month before it started to color up. If it’s not bleaching out I’d just leave it where it is and see. It could just be taking time to adjust to your water/lighting.

AI lights, even did a few weeks back par meter and everything was fine. Where this is the par is 190. Good to know if it brown to let it be for a while

I had similar luck with Jedi Mind Trick Monti, couldn't figure it out. Now I keep it around 130-140 PAR with medium-high flow and it seems better...still not coloring up that well but the polyps are a nice red and always extended. The skin is still entirely purple with no green.

Likely it came from a low nutrient tank so the 5ppm of nitrate in yours is causing some acclimation.

With montipira polyp extension is key. Color should come back unless you are blasting it with light. I have some blue digi colonies in uber low nutrient tank that will turn green unless they have 400+ par.

In my experience nudis will cause it to bleach instead of browning out.

Maybe move it about half way up. Mine really took off at that height with a360/T5 hybrid.
