I thought I'd share a few pics, of my baby angler...I call him Capt. *****, but he is super awesome!!! He is a dark red (under LED's, the camera has trouble capturing it)...he has double in size since I got him...he is now about 2" big, he was only 1" when I got home...which is what originally attracted me to him, was his tiddly bit size...which was cool...but it did have its complications when it came to feeding as they usually only eat live food, until you can wean them onto frozen...which until I had him in person, I did not realize the problem...since pretty much all fish were way to big, so I went to ghost shrimp, but even some were to big...despite what I heard from people, he was very hesitant to eat something his size, let alone double it...which at the time a lot of ghost shrimp were...and around here, ghost shrimp are gone the first day they get them in...so sometimes, it was very hard to find small ones...When he got hungry enough, he would try to put anything in his mouth and he ate stuff twice his size, but was a bit worried as it can mess them up...

However, with careful work I weaned him off, and is not eating frozen anything that looks like shrimp and takes like it...I tired to trick him, onto a chunk of rods food...gulped it down...but spit it right back out...however he will take frozen, he knows I feed him, when he sees me walk over the tank he is over at the glass hoping I have something to give him...

Another interesting thing, is that he does swim way more then I thought and had read, but I am thinking that is due to him being small and a bit mroe agile then more mature ones, that seems way slower and lethargic...

Ok...enough of my rambling...lets play a game of wheres waldo first...see if you can see him in this pic?

A quick shot of the frag tank that I have him set up in...he is very at home hanging out in between and around the frags...

You can see him using his "angling" device...Does not use it much, as I feed him from some tweezers, but he randomly does it from time to time and luckily he did in on camera!!!!

Awesome.

I am working on a new tank build (and of course I am already planning to upgrade that :hammer: ). Tank is a rimless illuminata. My upgrade scheme is to plumb a rimless Mr. Aqua Cube into the sump and set it up next to it. (25 gallons) And keep a Watskin angler and a Fu Manchu Lionfish :xd:

-------------

If you don't mind me asking, what size tank is that? Dimenions? Also which brand of PAR lamps did you get? Sorry for the barrage of questions. I am in the market for a frag tank.

Thanks for sharing! My wife would love to have an angler but as we know, they usually need their own tank and not a shared one with other fish.

Nice looking frag tank also! Your eggcrate is so white and clean, what's your secret?

I am also looking forward to hear the dimensions and such from someone elses post.

Just those to leds on the frag tank?? Is that enough light??? Bye the way sweet fish!!!

i used to have amated pair of anglers years ago. I had them in a species only 90 cube. That was one of my favorite tanks. When we moved, they died. when i went to put them inthe tank that was setup at our new house, i put them both in and they came to the surface and gulped air. They both got a bacterial infection and died a few weeks later. I miss these guys.

Great looking set up. Can you post a top down pic of the tank? I am interested in the filtration set up. Thanks...
