Carbon Capture in the sea

I live in the UK who are planning on implementing Carbon Capture in 2 area's using deep water bays and from what i have read there is a huge unit in Iceland and around 22 countries do this .Knowing what we do with a limited water sources we have in our tanks and the importance on stability of KH and PH will the process over many years have a serious impact on the ecology and acidifying the sea. Does this happen in the usa to support the climate change reduction program as i believe the USA is the leader in this. Im no expert with limited knowledge, just interested .

I’m sure I don’t have any insight into the complexities that the experts involved haven’t considered, but most processes to consume CO2 will generally help raise pH back toward natural levels.

One tested long ago was just adding iron to boost phytoplankton, which seemed to work.
