Carbon dosing and Alk

Would you recommend lower alk on A tank running Biopellets or vodka dosing but not enough (or with a decent fish load) to reach ULNS. Any idea if it might cause burned tips if alk is kept at 8-9?

IMO, only ULNS SPS tanks need to limit alkalinity to the 7-8 dKH range. Others can range higher (up to about 11 dKH) and may get faster growth at higher alkalinity.
