Looking to clarify . I run a 25 watt uv sterilizer on my red sea 300xl at 400gpm . The suggested rate for parasite control . I am struggling with rising nitrates and phospahtes and want to start carbon dosing red sea nopox . Does anyone know if the uv sterilizer will negate the carbon dosing by sterilizing the bacteria i am trying to accelerate by carbon dosing ?

I agree that it should be OK, but may not be optimal. It does take away or reduce one of the benefits of carbon dosing, IMO, which is suspended bacteria feeding filter feeders.
