There seems to be alot of questions posted with people having problems with high nitrates and nusiance algae. First of all there are no quick fixes. There are many companies out there selling products to cure all, some work some don't. Many of us are using carbon dosing wheter that be vodka,nopox etc. We use it as a tool to prevent nitrates and phosphates. But we also follow proper reefkeeping techniques. That means water changes, protein skimming ,circulation and try not to overfeed. Many people can maintain there tank with these techniques others cannot. Thats where carbon dosing can help if done correctly. Carbon dosing does alot more than reducing trates and phosphates that will also benifit your corals. Be patient and remember there are no quick fixes.
