Carbon dosing

Dosing vodka and instant oceans nitrate reducer and it's not working so far. Is it because I do not have a skimmer?

Vodka dosing takes time, it will not fix the problem over night, I vodka dosed with a suggest but it took over a month

You need to have a skimmer r to carbon dose.

You really should add a skimmer if you're dosing carbon. It becomes one of the main exports of bacteria in the tank - you dose carbon, bacteria grows, and then it's exported by being skimmed out. That's how carbon dosing works to lower nitrate and phosphate in the tank - you need to export _something_ otherwise you're just sort of moving the chemicals around but they're still in the system.
