I had a bag of carbon (redsea stuff) In a bag. In the sump. But I decided to put it in a reactor and run it that way. After 12hours the tank had never looked so clean! But should I run it all the time. Or a few days every month?

I dont think it's a bad idea to run all the time. There really arent any downsides.

I run my carbon reactor 24/7. I change out the media about once a month. Haven't seen a downside yet. I'm sure the effectiveness of the carbon is MOSTLY exhausted well before the end of the month, but you couldn't tell it visually, or by any indication in the tank.

I kinda like to use a white bucket for a water change and compare the new vs old water to see of the newer one is clearer. Not a very scientific test but its whatever haha
