Hi. I just acquired a bio pellet reactor from a member here. I’m eventually going to have a large bio load and this will help. In the meantime I’d like to run more carbon in the tank and I’m wondering if I could toss carbon in there? I assume as long as I can dial down the flow so the carbon isn’t tumbling what’s the difference? But then again, I assume A lot of things in this hobby and that’s not Always smart!

You can put carbon wherever you want as long as the flow isnt tumbling it to the point it might break down.

Mines just sat in media bags in the sump and I change it every 4 weeks

Yeah I was thinking it needed some water flow for maximum effect. Maybe I’ll put media bags in the reactor so they can’t tumble but water is forced through. Have to see how powerful the pump is on this thing.
