My brother had a battery powered light fall into his sump today and says that it has turned his water cloudy. Everything I have read says to run carbon but I was wondering if he should just run it in a mesh filter sock or is it better if I let him borrow my reactor. Is there a crazy benefit either way or will either work?

thanks in advance

If he puts it in a bag and into a medium flow area it should work just fine but the reactor does get more contact time. With carbon you want no tumbling and long contact time and it's hard to achieve that with a bag. If it is no biggie to you I would let him borrow the reactor for a bit to get the most out of the carbon and get out whatever is in the water the fastest.

Thanks guys. This is his brother. I did do a water change when it happened but did not run any carbon. I continued tests and everything stayed in the good. It cleared up within 24 hrs.
