Carbon infused filter pad causing slimmer to go nuts

So I added a carbon infused filter pad to my sump and went to work. When I came home my skimmer was overflowing with bubbles. Anyone experience this before?

It does happen even with new socks. Need to soak them in did water for a day or so before
