What is the way to put carbon on protein skimmer discharge when using ozone in reef tank ?

I use about 1 small coffee cup of carbon in a bag tied with ziplock around the skimmer output pipe. I exchange it every 2 weeks (ballpark interval, don't know any ways of measuring exhaustion).
As for the outcoming air, I don't filter as my sump is on the balcony. Otherwise, I believe should be also passed through carbon, they say any perceivable smell may be dangerous to people's health.

Hello ,put the carbon in a sock and cover the top of the skimmer(holes)
And turn on ozonizer at night time for a couple of hours only daily so that u won't feel the foul smell

But be carefull as ionizer as the skimmer will eliminate trace elements so u need to monitor weekly

I noticed fins damage on the fish

No need at al

Why do you say that?

There are a number of toxic components in the ozonated water that can harm creatures if not removed by being broken down.

I know some people do not do it, but that doesn't mean it isn't useful to remove them with GAC.

Thats why i implied not to over use the ozonizer only for a couple of hours daily

But even though u still getting toxic components into the water right ?

Fin rot is a very common fish disease. The good is that it is treatable and preventable. The bad is that it can kill your fish if you don’t act fast. Fin rot is caused by bacteria. The most important thing to take from this is that fin rot strikes fish when they are stressed. Fix the problem that is stressing your fish and you can quickly treat and deal with the problem
Fin rot can spread to the body of your fish in its later stages, but it starts with the fins. Rotted or ragged looking fins, white edges on fins, or puffy sores on the fins, are all signs of fin rot. In the later stages of fin rot you might also notice a lose of appetite.
Do water changes first
Remove any bullies cuz the main reason for all that is STRESS

ionozer works like this :
  • Separation of Oxygen atom allows for immediate oxidation of impurities
  • Oxygen atom can and will be more easily absorbed by fishes
  • Toxins released and become free-floating for easier & effective removal
  • Nutrients and Trace elements can be diffused for easier selective uptake by coral
  • Surface Tension is reduced so carbon dioxide & other gases like nitrates can escape
  • Halogens such as Na+Cl- become freed up to naturally sterilize contaminants
Beyond the absurdity of their claims, if it truly provided ANY of the stated benefits - We'd all have them.
But plz check how many mg/hr does it provide n whats the tank size
