Hey Reefers.

First post on the forums but a long time lurker(=

Im looking for ideas on how to set up a carbon filtration on a 110 liter sumpless nano tank.

Thing is i already have skimmer, heater, 2x powerheads and ATO sensor and i really dont want to add more gear into the aquarium.

Are there any reactors built like a canister filter with inbuilt pump and in/out lines that i could put in my cabinet?
Or just use a small canister filter with a mesh bag of carbon?

Yea there probably are some gadgets but if you go the canister route. You won't need the skimmer.

IMO IME it keeps the water a lot clearer as it pulls detritus out pretty quick as its a very efficient mechanical filter. A skimmer waits until the food and poop rots and is spit out by the bacteria and can be pulled buy the skimmer. The canister is also similar to a remote sandbed or extra live rock that can house extra bacteria in addition to carbon housing GFO if you ever need it.

Cheers for the replies, looking at costs and that i plan to get a bigger tank soon a canister filter is a tempting way to go for now.
Dont really have any nitrate or phosphate issues but water has a slight yellow tint that gets on my nerves, and extra filtration is always good.
