My tank has been running since August 2nd. That's including the cycle. The fish have been in for about 3 weeks now. Have some lps. I have a uv running. My water is pretty clear. I never ran carbon yet. Today I finally put carbon in my aquamaxx reactor. Since it's 10/1 I figured I'd start on a routine and run carbon for about 4 days a month. I have a very small amount of diatoms since it's a new tank. It's on sand. Not bad at all I'm waiting for the storm. Can anything bad happen with running carbon. Especially 3 to 4 days max then take it offline until the next month or so?

Carbon won't do anything bad and honestly I would just run it continuously. Just make sure the carbon isn't tumbling.

It's definitely not tumbling. And it's running at 100gph estimate. Maybe a tad less as I'm going by feel and just turned the gate valve 4.5 times as a reminder and tweak from there. So I'll run it for 5 day stretch and see if I can notice anything....ans go from there.
