Carbon: Reef Tanks

I've read a lot through the forums and was just curious since I'm new to the reef tanks ..... Do any off you guys run it .... I've seen some do some Dont ...

I've always run my tanks on carbon 24 /7 I change my carbon once a month to stop leeching back into the water but you do have to To do regular water changes because the carbon takes a lot of trace elements Out of the water

I never run Carbon. Unless meds have been added to the tank for some reason.

Thanks a lot guys , I haven't been running since I changed to corals per advice of LFS .... My water didn't look as crystal clear as usually
Even though I'm addicted to purigen ...
Put in last night and now it's so pretty again ....

I run chemi-pure Elite 24/7 and add a separate bag of carbon from time to time if any chemicals are used in the tank or just need an extra "boost" in clarifying the water.
