I run pretty much all and it seems to be a waste of product use. Gfo in 150 reactor on sump and both carbon and eilite in seperate bags in a hob filter that runs on a 20g frag tank hooked into the 90g dt system. Purchasing bulk gfo from brs and was thinking I would basically just make my own chemi eilite bags for use. Would be cheaper. Or I was thinking of getting the large 40oz chemi pure and using their recipe seperate from my carbon only media bag and making it into eilite with my gfo-that is the way I want to go but it states under no circumstances to open the chemi pure bag and reportion??? Why not-whats the difference. Any input appreciated on any of these products especially the conjioned use and any input on the method stated in the direction I was looking to go for making it. Thanks

People who have reasonably stocked tanks can use ChemiPure Elite as a super convenient way to sharply cut the amount of algae growing on the front glass. This can extend their maintenance window from hours to days or days to weeks. IMO this is money well spent.

For people with typically overstocked tanks, however, this would be a bit like rabbit-hunting with spit wads. :) Dealing with and spending on reactors, media storage, the mess of filling and emptying all make the most sense with overstocked tanks. (Unless somehow you are getting a great deal on the CCElite.)

So you have to weigh expense and convenience against mess and hassle. Which makes the most sense? Are you overstocked? :)

Hope this helps!

I would say yes-on being overstocked with having 4 tanks basically all on the same system(fuge,FT,DT,sump with nano in it) I just went with it and grabbed up some CPeliete. Water turn over through the FT is a lot slower than the DT so I figure it can't hurt to polish the water in there along with the reactors on the sump. So basically there is bio-pellets and gfo on the sump and carbon and eilite in a hob on the 20g FT.
