Yea mine too. Just under a cup or so. So it's not packed tight in the bag. Like a real soft bean bag. It lets water flow through.

Eww. Yea I hate that.
It really shouldn't smell though. Unless you spill the Skimmate.
Might be time to deep clean or get some strong bottled bacteria going too.
