Cardinal fish did not survive first night

Adde two cardinal fish after drip acclimation.
The seemed fine before lights off.
They swam peacefully. Ate frozen mysis. Behaved normal.
Couldn’t find them in the morning.
Found half of a body in the home of my serpant starfish. The other floated up after turning pump on and off.
The floater did not have signs of any sickness.

Sal 34.7
Ph 8.4
No clue what I did wrong.

Hi, sorry about this. How old is your tank? Do you have any other fish or corals? What is your filtration?

I have 4 happy clowns, two gobies, tiger pistol who has turned all the sand upside down in 3 days ;-)
No corals. But 3 feather dusters.
Tank about 2 months old
Filtration. IntNk stack. Me ha I love, matrix and charcoal. One additional bag of matrix in 2nd chamber before pump.
