Is there many differences between the cardinal fish and the pj cardinal? At the lfs the regular cardinal fish are priced higher then the pj cardinal fish and I was curious why ?

Wild caught Bangaiis can be pretty touchy and sometimes succumb to a kind of virus that only affects them. Bangaiis generally have a harder time being in groups and I’ve heard more success with Pajamas in groups. Both are slow, inactive fish.

In the wild, Bangaii cardinals are endangered, I think that’s why their price is risen.
They are also a more wanted cardinal so that raises the price

To my knowledge Bangaiis usually pair off and the third one may or may not be killed. People have had more success keeping Pajamas in groups but they also pair off. In a 90 though, I can’t guarantee anything but maybe worth a try. I’m not a Cardinalfish expert.

I've got a trio of adult PJ cards, been together for 6 years now. No problems.

I've also got a pair of flame cards, and a pair of ochre striped cards. Both pairs started as trios, one of each didn't make it.

Had a big Orbic cardinal, my kids called it 'the ugly fish'... Every bit of 5" long. Had him for a least a decade, back in the day. Don't see many of them around anymore.

For some odd reason, I've never had any luck with Banggii cards. Bought several over the years, most, if not all were captive bred. None did well for me.

My mom loved my bengaii pair more than my clowns. So probably more demand.

It's probably because pjs are ugly and nobody wants them.

Okay, that's a bit harsh, but it's common for related fishes to command different prices based on demand.
