Feedback on caribsea life rock vs real live rock

I have only looked at it online. It looks kind of fake to me. I went with regular dry rock, white, and let nature take its course. I like the natural evolution of it, but that's just what I like.

I used 50% life rock and 50% real live rock from the ocean. I will tell you absolutely still cycle it all in a barrel as it was loaded in bound phosphate. Would consistently test above Hanna URL range

After rebooting my reef, I set up my entire tank using nothing but CaribSea Life rock. Tank has been set up for almost a year now and have never tested phosphates any higher than .03. I will say that I have used both this and regular uncured live rock and there is no difference in cycling time between the two. I think the painted on bacteria on the CaribSea rock is a gimmick. After about a month, that purple coloring is gone anyways. I would definitely use it again.

My tank has been up for almost two months using all liferock and it looks great. Cycled in the tank and have never measured above 0.08 phosphate. Colour is still there same as the day I added it. Really looks amazing and has lots of purple and pinks. Would never use live rock again!

Just mixed in, very happy

That is my experience as well.

I used a box of the liferock branch .... mostly because I could not find tonga. Liferock works just fine for aquascaping, but it is very dense and I do wonder how well it will work for the bio-filter. If you are using it exclusively, I'd be keeping an eye on ammonia levels.

While I don't have any feedback on long term use, I can add that I just finished setting up my new RSR 350 with Liferock and it was super easy to scape. No crazy stacking or gluing and it went together nicely. So far I like it. 20210226_104817.jpg
