Does anyone have a tank that mimics reefs in Florida and /or the Caribbean? I would like to make mine look more like the reefs I am accustomed to diving on, but all I've managed so far is a couple of Gorgonians. Most of the corals and fish available seem to be from other parts of the world. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places?

Caribbean corals are mostly off limits, as far as I know.

Certain Caribbean fishes are pretty common in the hobby though. Basslets, damsels, certain large angels, certain tangs, etc.

What's the tank size? I could come up with a good list, if you want.

Its 180 gal but pretty well stocked with fish. I do hope to add another wrasse. I would love a blue-headed wrasse, but have heard that they like to turn over rocks to find food. I dont need that stress lol. An Atlantic tang would probably fight with my powder brown :(

Yeah, generally Thalassoma wrasses aren't great for reefs. But, a 180 might be okay. Sargent major damsels get big too. You would think that atlantic blue tangs would be a decent choice, but I have never seen a healthy adult in person or online other than in public aquaria or in the wild.

Now that you mention it neither have I
I. I Haven't seen seargent majors for sale much, if ever either.

My reef tank is loaded with Caribbean fish. The list includes 4 masked gobies, 4 peppermint gobies, 2 neon gobies 1 goldline blenny, a rosy blenny and an argi angel. I would forget the sergeant major. I have seen them softball size.

Check out KP aquatics website. They offer pretty much everything that you can legally keep from the Caribbean. Though with COVID-19 their selection is a bit lean at the moment.
Edit: here's a link to the site.
