Caribbean velvet shrimp

Well I did it again. I bought something on a whim while at the LFS because it was cheap and cool and didn't look dangerous. It's the Caribbean velvet shrimp. So far it is a work horse at searching the sand for food so I don't think it will be a problem. But the only info I can find is that it's actually a prawn and goes well with blackened seasoning and cocktail sauce. Does anyone have any experience with this critter that doesn't involve the dinner table?

Wow the lfs must be getting desperate selling seafood. I don't know, I'd probably batter and fry.

So far I like this guy. Up side my sand looks a lot better so I think he is great at cleaning the sand bed, downside is he seems to be completely nocturnal. I only see him at night with the lights out.

Made my laugh too. I actually love prawns. Any seafood really but I think I will let this one live lol.

You better not let her live. She dies on you and your 100% at a loss. You let her get nice and fat, you can really have the freshest shrimp out there......
You bring that shrimp and I’ll bring the sauce!
