My tank is 3 months old with 7 fish and and 6 corals only. Water parameters seem to be in check with weekly water changes but I don't have a magnesium test kit yet. One rock in the middle of the tank in moderate to high lighting is turning white. Is the light bleaching it? Is the paint on the Caribesea paint flaking off into my tank? this seemed to happen over the past 24 hours. I am running 2 Radion XR15 pro lights on LFS template at 65% schedule which gives about 40% intensity. I have a full screen top so sort of a diffuser also.

Bleaching I can handle but if the paint is dissolving and flaking into the tank thats not good. Your thought?

I don’t kno exactly what the purple is, but it will soon be gone by algae. I have a purple rock that is no longer purple lol , urchins will also eat the purple stuff causing it to be the white rock underneath

So it flakes off into the tank? I just tried scraping some and it turns to powder dust. Rock is dissolving.

Old post but nothing negative happened. The urchins eat all the paint off too leaving bare white rock spots. My rocks are pretty well covered in coralline now too.
