Hi all,

would like to know your experiences with CaribSea Life rock. Notice any persistent cloudyness, or anything like that?

I used 50% caribse 50% live rock on my 120.
Very happy with the results.
No cloudiness of any kind.

I personally love the shapes and color. Both my tanks (100g and 187g) are all Caribsea Life Rock. I've had Fiji and Tonga live rock in all my previous tanks. Sold most of it off to create new aquascapes with Caribsea. You'll hear opinions on both. Both have its pros and cons. I've had no issues with it once cycled and mature like any rock. Tanks are crystal clear..

Thanks all. I have at as my only rock in one of my tanks. Which coincidentally had dinos with in a week of turning on the lights. Phosphate was 0. I guess I’ll chalk it up to that and dosing vibrant being the issue. Thanks for all your responses.

I mixed in with my current rock when i upgraded

don’t notice a difference, very happy and 6 months later seems like some coraline starting on spots

would purchase moving forward

I added caribsea rock on 3 separate tanks and all tanks had cyano outbreak. Biggest outbreak is on one tank that I added at least 80lbs of their rock. Cyano seems to start on the rock surfaces itself. Don’t know if it is cyano or their coating is coming off aince tried 3 diff cyano treatment and nothing worked.

I haven't had any cyano on either of my tanks (187g & 100g) which have 100% caribsea life rock shapes. I do run a UV sterilizer on both tanks..never had cyano or dinos just normal algae. Can you post a picture of what you're seeing.

I have 140 pounds of it in here. When I get cyano it grown everywhere and no just on the Carib sea rock. I have a bit right now because my PO4 creeped up on me while I wasn't paying attention.

For some reason it prefers the right end of my tank. Maybe if we avoided right sides?

Right sides and right turns...dangerous territory

I wish I had cyano. I’ll upload a pic of the Dino problem, when it’s in full effect again. Just did a manual removal yesterday. So it’s looking respectable right now.

My last tank was setup with 100% caribsea life rock. After about a year, my rock just started dissolving and breaking off in spots. It was very strange. Also, the painted on bacteria seemed to be a gimmick.....I didn't notice any difference in cycling time between that and dry rock. I probably would not use it again......as a matter of fact, if anybody is local to me, I have 5 or 6 unused pieces if you want it :)

I've always kind of wondered how it can say "infused with bacteria" and then sit dry on the shelf in the store for who knows how long before you buy it,,, but what do I know?

*also, never used it so have no comments other than the bacteria advertisement puzzles me
