No, I used Microbacter7. LFS said I didn’t have to use it unless I wanted to try to speed it up. My original tank was wiped out with Velvet. I wanted as little as possible from my old tank when I “re-started” the tank

I used Fritz turbo start on my caribsea and it worked quite well. I don’t have experience with dr Tim’s or microbacter 7, but I’m sure they work fine too.

I used Dr Tim’s bacteria and fishless cycle. Took roughly 35 days in my Waterbox 20.

So I think there are many on this forum who can answer better but I believe that caribsea has bacteria on it and will seed itself when submerged in saltwater and will take two weeks to cycle (please research this!).
On an interesting note I also used this same rock with a bottle of the brightwell bacteria starter pack. On the brightwell bacteria bottle it says to not use the product with another bacteria product as the two will compete. Using a seneye to monitor ammonia this did seem to happen to my rock. I got it started again using fritz turbo.
Maybe consider using the rock alone with no dr Tim’s? I believe there is bacteria already painted on the rock itself

I used the same rock the last time I rebooted my reef and I honestly didn't notice any difference in cycling time between their bacteria seeded rock and any other rock.
