I bought 6 bags of this sand for my tank about a month ago.
Firstly, its full of rocks and shells and twigs, not just sand.
I got passed that...

But today, im looking in my tank and see something red in the sand...i scoop it out and its a rusty fish hook and a piece of fishing line! Pics attached.

They need to do a much better job sifting through this sand...god knows what other crap is in it!

Wow! Halway upset but atleast you know its like they say. Direct from the ocean. Lol

lol How big is the tank?
I know a few guys that throw a line in anywhere there's water.

The tanks 400g, but no ones fishing in it! Lol!

Its just kind of surprising that it doesnt seem like they shift through the sand at all prior to bagging it.

They, nor anyone that sells real, true live sand sifts it. That would sift out much life. If you buy bulk live sand, it will have pebbles, shells, twigs in it, but also will have many copepods, worms, snails, possibly sea stars and all the stuff you want to be in live sand. If you are just after bacteria in the sand bed, just buy dry sand and add some live rock.
