Caribsea oolite anyone using ?

The main issue with oolite is how fine it is that creates sand storms with any light flow.

That being said, theres lots of people using it and love the sugar fine look.
I ended up using it and wondering if I made the mistake of using it lol. It’s been since Sunday when I added it and slowly getting clearer but I’m not sure I turned my flow down on me cross flow pump and added some filter floss with carbon to eat up anything. Just worried I made the wrong sand decision lol

You may just be experiencing clouding. Happens when you dont rinse it before placing in tank. It should subside after a few days to a week.

Don’t use it! I put it in a nano tank and the sand blows everywhere, even with just the return pump. Unless you can have very calm water you will regret it.

Im using a 40g breeder it’s fairly large. Sand has settled very little clouding may be due to the turbo start for a fast cycle. The sand does blow around very little at bottom of tank nothing detrimental but i dont know we will see I’ve seen horrible reviews on it and great reviews on it

I feel like the more it sets in the more bacteria that grows within the sand will hold it all together better and not blow around as much.

I used it in my most recent build. After about 4 months, I removed and replaced it. The sand was always blowing around and getting into my return pump. I think it looks really nice but just won't stay in place.

I’m gonna stick with it I’m using a hob so it’s not a huge inconvenience. It should settle with bacteria setting into the sand and surface
