Carpet anemone

I'm thinking of getting a carpet nem because I really like them. I know they eat fish but man they are so nice. I'm thinking of building a net box around it to keep fish out. From the netting for screen tops and some acrylic rods. What are your guys experience with these creatures. I have a 90 gallon tank. This is the one I want to get

That is a beautiful Nem. Don't make a net box, it would be just plain ugly and would prevent the little guy from moving around. It has to find its own happy place in your tank for it to be happy. This is the hazard you must accept when housing this nem. How long has your tank been up and running?

Good to go. I say get it and just realize it can and will kill things. You have to decide if that is a risk you are willing to take. You can always keep it in a large breeder box but, IMO they just look ugly, far too ugly to have such a beautiful specimen in. Keep us posted!

I had one that started about fist sized - and ended up about 2.5 feet in diameter. I (stupidly) as an experiment fed it a dead 6 inch discus... Nothing happened the skeleton came out the next day - but I could have had an ammonia problem lol. Mine never (that I knew of) killed any fish. They seemed to know to 'stay away'. But - everyone is different. I tended to feed mine quite well. Be aware of one thing - over time I became incredibley allergic to the 'sting' - and this thing would literally grab a finger and then quickly my hand and wrist. Use gloves (and no net IMO)

I'm looking for a nice red/blue etc. one for my tank.... I am keeping only 2 clowns in it though. In your 90g tank, I'm guessing most HEALTHY fish will just avoid it.

Well I missed out since I can no longer see it on the site. It was listed for 400 with 40 percent off after shipping it was around 280 dollars. And I have 2 kessils ap700 btw
