new carpet anemone extruding a white grainy blob
Having problems navigating this forum. Sorry, just very frustrated!Welcome to Reef2Reef!
Can you post a pic? It may just be voiding some waste, or it could be everting it’s mesentery filaments. Do to see any rips or tears on its body column or foot?
Jay
Your KH is high.
what type of carpet? Watch for deflating and inflating cycles. Is the mouth gaping? Did you recently try feeding it since you acquired which it is spitting out waste?

VERSACE???Almost looks like a mini maxi Stichodactyla tapetum, but I almost see verrucae on the column. Would need better pics to identify.

I’m sorry you’re having trouble navigating. Some helpful info so far but #reefsquad is always here to help. Whether it be anemone problems or website problems, help is on the way. @OrionN is great with anemones if you still need any more assistance. This site is very hard to navigate!
Can you see this little bell? When you enter the website, you should see a number next to it. Click it and you can see the first reply to your thread and also when someone types your name. Like @LenettI have to go to my emails to find replies! What do I need to do differently?
That is a mini-carpet. These guys are extremely hardy. How long have you had him? If he continue to deflates like that I would take him out to a QT and treat him with antibiotic. Direction how to treat anemones with antibiotic is I. A sticky thread in this forum.
No time for a learning curve when animals are in distress. I will work on it! ThanksI’m sorry you’re having trouble navigating. Some helpful info so far but #reefsquad is always here to help. At the moment those pictures were taken the mouth is inverted which is not a good sign. Not if it’s been 8 days. Did you just feet it recently? I would not recommend it while it looks like that.
The mouth should go back in and it should be nice and tight. The anemone should stop moving around when it’s found a place it’s happy in.
if it starts to deflate and inflate, then you need to do treatment. I would suggest that you checkout the thread mentioned above for more info. You can post daily pictures and we can help you out.
Charging camera.Sorry busy w dogs and vet until now. 11 days. Do you mean the white is his mouth? Whatever it is, the first time it was expelled and I can see it laying on rock. Clearly didn't go back inside. Looks kind of like a slugs head and body. What he was expelling yesterday looked the same, but he was deflating. Seems to be calmer but small today. My cal is still dropping even though dosing. 340 last night. He is under and attached to side of a base rock. I might not be able to get him safely, but will try. What ever is affecting him isn't an issue for other inhabitants. My frags, starfish, urchans, shrimp and fish are doing well. Tiny o clowns eating 3-4 times a day Except my large cinnamon clown is jumping at his own shadow. A male that made it through the tank breakdown but lost his partner. He also bites when he sees skin. Will get meds as rec.
Also there are white cone shaped spongy things growing on rock in 50 gal. Any Idea what it is? Trying to get better pics. Thanks everyone!
