Carpet nem help

Hello all.
I apologize if this is in the wrong discussion.

I came home to my carpet nem on the sand bed. I picked it up and put it on the rock where it was. I looks deflated and now white stuff is coming off of it. Does anyone know if it’s dying? Please see the pic below. Thank you.

Agree with top down photo, but it looks like it is just sloughing off some mucus. I just added rock flower nems to my set up, and they all had a good "sneeze" after a couple days.
