Carpet Nem in a 20 Gallon?

I have a 20 gallon with a 4 bulb t-5 fixture. Currently it is stocked with a few lps, 3 chromis, and a canary blenny. I understand the risk of the other fish being caught by the nem. Is it possible to house one under my lights and tank size? I would like it to be the show piece of the aquarium. Please let me know of your other concerns. I'm not ready to buy one I'm just trowing out the idea.

your lighting and everything will be fine. but as you know they get quite large and can grow very fast. If you dont feed it all the time then it wont grow as fast, that is what I do with mine in my 57 but it is only about 4-5" in diameter.

If it was me, I would not do it. I'm not sure if the 4 bulb would work to begin with. What is your level of experience with nems? Sorry, don't mean to be a Debbie downer.

I had mine at 1 time under 2-t5 for about 6 months,but as for fish,if you had some clowns that would host it,they wouldn't let any other fish get near it.

idk bout thrive,but didnt die. lol that rhymed .. Honestly i couldn't tell yeah the difference on growth.now its under 6-t5 and 2-vho but had it over a year and still looks the same..

but apparently its thriving now since its getting to big

Honestly i wouldn't get a carpet in that sized tank, you'll end up spending having to trade it into your LFS in a short time and it will be sad get a Maxi-Mini, may be more suited for the tank size.

It would depend on the Fixture , Quality of reflectors and the Bulbs. Get good bulbs like ati. The depth of a 20 isnt much so your par would be high all around. I think youd be able to have one Heck you prolly would be good with sps.

It is a sunlight supply with 2 ATI blue+, 1 ATI AquaBlue Special, and 1 ATI Purple Plus

What type of "carpet"? The 2 (( somewhat )) commonly available ones are S. haddoni and S. gigantea will both outgrow your tank in short order -- assuming you can find a healthy small one to begin with.

The lights would be fine, but there won't be enough room for it. In addition, these anemones put out a large amount of waste, so water quality will be an issue. About 5 years ago I moved an existing S. hadodni (( was in my care for a total of 13 years )) into a 33 cube, it took up pretty much the whole tank and keeping up with the water changes started to become a pain.

The smallest tank I would even think about would be a 40 breeder, and then just the anemone and a pair of clowns.
