Carpools to the MTRC Jan 17th Swap

Just wanted to start a thread in case anybody wants to get in a carpool for the swap. I know, I'm excitable, please forgive me.

Mark is driving from Ooltewah and I'm hitching a ride woth hime (FirstSalt). haven't heard from Andy, but since he's in Ooltewah, I'm assuming that he'll want to hitch a ride with us. Andy(Gudar), if you could post and let us know, we'd appreciate it.

Bryan (Ironman) and Patrick (SaltNewbie) are going in Bryan's truck, and he said that the's got and extra couple of seats too, but be aware that Bryan and Patrick are going early (Bryan is selling frags) and both Bryan and Patrick will probably be there for the duration and longer. Not that they talk a lot (ok, Bryan does, I think Patrick mainly listens and comments when important- he's clever that way- doesn't tick people off like the rest of us), but they'll be there for a while.

Of course, anybody carpooling would be expected to help pay for gas as a benefit to the driver. Just thought I would mention that....

Andy, I'm not sure it they are setting up the night before. Bryan is selling frags (and Brandon too, I think), but I don't know if they are setting up the night before. You could possibly go with them (or send your corals with them to put in their tanks. Mark would probably have room for your tank and stuff, but you'd want your corals to open up). Are you selling the whole set up as one thing?

I don't think that I'm going to take anything to sell. I've got a couple of pieces of fragspawn (broken from the main colony that I got from Bryan- it was big) and hammer (also broken from the main colony from Bryan- it was gigantic), but I think he's taking some of his own and I don't want to step on his parade (since mine look so much better-not). And besides, Julie needs to put new things in her new 75 gal tank (what a nice fiancee- he's a keeper if he supports the habit....) and I might let her take one of the frogspawn and hammer pieces. They are lovely....

And New Bee Momma, take advantage of Brandon. Bryan is taking frags too. I'm sorry you're taking friends. Maybe you could uninvite them since you'll want to spend a lot more time there than your friends are going to want to....

I believe you can setup the night before but I wont be, I dont even know if I will bother taking anything. Its alot of trouble and I would get more at local stores in credit than it is worth to me. Im not fragging my LPS at the moment susan so sell away. not that it mattered if I was, this isnt a competiton. Also im not sure exactly how much extra room I will have for paasengers yet, patrick has someone interested in a tank so we might have to put equipment in the back seat if his deal goes through, but please contact me if you need a ride and I will try and find out for sure

I'll be in my car with four doors and a big trunk. I won't be selling anything, but I'll be shopping. So I'll have some empty coolers to take with us. We can take whatever you like Andy, but if you get to sell it before you go, then you'll have that money to spend at the swap (just a thought). -Mark

Depends on how big of a car Mark has.... My kids are OOT next week end, so my husband and I might go up to Nashville the night before, if we do, Mark might have rom.... I'll talk to my husband some more. I hate to bring him to the swap (won't be too supportive of spending money), but it's hard to resist not doing something when the kids are OOT.....

And WHAT is THAT supposed to mean?

Well, DH has a friend's 40th birthday party to go to on Friday night, so no hot plans for a night alone without kids OOT in Nashville. I do think that I might drive up by myself and not stay too long so that I can get back earlier (DH mentioned going somewhere nice to eat and then to a movie- I don't get THAT offer too much).

I'd still be glad to ride with you, Mark, but I think that you might want to stay longer. I'd probably like to leave around 3pm (that's 4pm here) so that I can get back for my dinner date. Sorry for the flip flopping, but I didn't realize the kids were going to be OOT until just the other week (thought it was the next weekend).

I certainly don't want to stand in the way of your "hot plans" Susan. Sounds like you have a nice date planned.

I've only been to one swap so I don't know how to gauge how long I'll want to stay. LOL. If it is three times the size of the CRC, then I'm sure I could spend 3 hours there - maybe longer? not sure.

Here's my point of view. If someone may miss out on getting to go, then they can ride with me. If you (Susan) think driving yourself there might be more than you want to do, then you're still welcome to ride with me. (Just for you, I wouldn't mind leaving in time to get up there by noon and starting home by 3pm Central time.) And if no one ends up riding up there with me, I'll go there and also visit a close relative of mine that lives a mile from the swap. So the way I see it, I'll have fun no matter what.

My other car is having issues, so I'll be driving a two door car with average room in the back. It's comfortable for two or three. Okay for four unless you're picky about having a lot of leg room in the back seat.

If you are ok with getting there first thing and leaving by 4pm, I'm still up for the riding. I can take my car if we need to. My car is having a little trouble too, but either my husband's car or my car will be able to go. I'm getting some work done to it today/tomorrow.

Andy, is coming home at 3pm ok with you? And if we squeeze Andy in the back, we can fit Julie and her fiancee if they are ok with leaving at 3pm.

I don't mind taking a car full. We can fit five in my car and I certainly don't mind making sure we leave in time for you to make it back to Chattanooga on time. Julie, you and your boyfriend are all welcome to ride with me. Susan, do you mind coordinating who rides with me? Because of work, I may not be able to check the boards often enough today and tomorrow to effectively coordinate. I'll PM you my phone number and you can just let me know what I need to do. I would like to leave in time to pick everyone up and still get there as the doors open. But I do draw the line at trying to take the the pie-making tree with us. The tree has to stay by the pond. - Mark

Andy, I don't have your phone #, are you ok with leaving in time to get there at noon central time (that would be about 10:45 or 11am our time) and leaving at 3pm central? That would give us 3 hours at the swap. Mark, I'll ride with you if you are ok with leaving at 3pm central. I'll leave the tree at home.....

We can meet at BiLo or Publix. Might be more convenient. Julie, need to know if you want to join us. We can take my car if we need to.

I will drive to the swap. I'll be leaving 10.45 AM and try to get back here around 6.00 PM. I can take 2 people with me. I will bring my daughter (6 years old) with me. If someone need a ride, just pm me. I live in Ooltewah. If we can meet at Publix or Bilo, that would be great.
