What I have seen, from diving and snorkling in parts of the Carribean, are that blues are a very shallow-water zoanthid, most are even fully exposed at low tides, being out of water for up to 3-4 hours a day, with no ill- affects. Myself, like most , keep them very high, about 6 inches from the surface with heavy flow over them. If they ever start to melt away, I will experiment and take them out of the tank for a couple hours a day, and see what happens. Who knows? What we learn about zoanthids is through trial and error. mostly error, lol
