So, lately, I've come to realize that my rock work is really not working out for me. I've scoured around looking for people who may do this professionally but I haven't been able to find one. If you know one, let me know.

I plan to buy a 18"x 7" x 7" dry rock block and carve an entire aquascape from it:D.

My question is, will a dremel be sufficient to do this? If so, what type of dremel and bit would you recommend. I'd like it to carve relatively fast if possible.

gotta go slow. it is like sandstone and can be extremely soft, and has even softer spots depending on where two corals meet and the amount of holes inside it. pretty easy to do. I went with a variable speed drill and jigsaw, a chisel or two. The LFS band saw if they have one is perfect.
Mostly I made holes and knocked off edges and did acrylic rods.

It goes kinda fast because its soft.

It depends on the rock. Some of the rock is brittle and tends to shatter. I would buy a small piece and practice on it first. That is I would if I were thinking. Sometimes I just jump in feet first and afterwards think of what I should have done.
