Hello, I'm just starting out and have been impressed with how helpful everyone has been here. I was always interested in doing a reef tank but held off because I was just out of college and renting. About 6 months ago I bought a new home in Baltimore city and am now ready to get things started. Just wanted to post pictures of my progress and am interested to hear any suggestions. I'm really going for a clean look as everything will be in the main room of the house. I got my tank used for a great deal a few weeks ago and it included a lot of the items I needed to get started (thanks Marty!) I've cleaned it up, done a water test and have been focusing on getting everything set for easy maintenance.
Equipment-
DSA 65 Gallon with stand
Sump, pump, heaters
Reef Octopus NWB110
BRS- 4 Stage RO/DI
DME-155e LED from Reef Radiance(on its way)
The tank sits on my middle floor between my kitchen and family room away from natural light. I had a small foot stool that's hollow and I think would be perfect for storing a small tank for my auto-top off I plan on setting up. I bought a small stand from Lowes that matched the color of the stand for 15$
About 10 feet to the right is a bathroom which I will be using for water changes and creating RO/DI water
I bought an adapter to attach to the cold water line that I can turn on and off. I'm looking into drilling a hole in the drain and have the bad water drain directly. This bathroom backs up to my pantry and I came up with an idea to drill a hole through the wall(blue line) and into my pantry to store my RO/DI salt mix as there isn't much room for storage under the sink.
This is the pantry backing up to the bathroom, I have a 20 Gallon Brute container. I could probably update later but wanted to minimize the footprint.
