i planned on leaving mine until he just healed, i dont like medicating and adding chemicals when i dont have to.My oldest fish is a damsel that fights with everything, probably the dominant fish in my reef. It had a mate and along the way it got into brawls that damaged its eye. First time it looked similar and healed over and was fine. The second time it healed, sort of as the eyesocket is now empty and yet "One-eye" still lives after many years of having no depth perception in its vision. It gets around fine otherwise and looks like a mess but doesn't seem to slow her down much. She continued to lay eggs until the mate jumped and she still attacks me if she isn't happy with how I am cleaning the glass or gravel when my gloved arm goes in the tank. I wear the gloves to keep oils out and to damping the injuries she tries to inflict.
Eye injuries are generally treated with Eurythromycin, I never added antibiotics to help out one eye. She probably would have died if I had, just to spite me.
