Catching a fish

I have a overly aggressive bicolor anthias that I need to get out of the tank.

Any suggestions how to get it into a trap?

I had to drain my tank to get my anthias, its not as bad as it sounds. Took 2 hours

I'd hate to do that. I'm not sure I could find it. Hate to take down all the rock work.

I didn't move any rock, you might a have different situation. I poked a net handle where they hide in the rocks and chased them out, then they were just flopping in the sand

what did you do about the other fish and coral?

other fish stayed in the tank, coral was fine for the 15-20min it was out of water

I only tried for a day, it seemed time consuming, waiting for a fish to go in there

After you drained the tank, just poured the water back in, no issues with fish stress?

Just pretend you are taking a poll and call 100 people at random and ask them how to catch a fish.

What do you thing the #1 answer would be? I know it sounds bad but a very small hook with the barb removed
works wonders and it only takes a minute. Much less stress on the fish and other inhabitants than trying to catch it in a net.

it didn't bother anything else in the tank.... never thought of hooking it

Nope. Took about 20 seconds that evil tang never knew what hit him LOL

Micro fish hooks work great. Also it's fun fishing from home on the couch.

I had good luck using an acclimation box converted to a trap. Caught all of my fish over a few days.

The Tanago with the red line works good and easy to remove.

Tried using a commercial trap. Wouldn't even go near it. Not sure how to keep the bait in the box.... it just floats away and it gets eaten.
