Rogue falco hawkfish that I cannot catch. I've tried multiple nets, leaving them in tank to acclimate him a bit, tried during feeding...

What tips and tricks have you found to work aside from emptying the tank?

I’ve seen waiting till they go to sleep work if you can sneak up on em

And sorry for the multiple posts! Using tapatalk, the first two didn't show for like half an hour so I didn't think they posted.

I also just had a thought to use poly filter to block some of the crevices he's getting in to! I have rolls of it!
Nice that will help keep him in the open

no worries. Yea that will help. I’ve also used pieces of glass to cut off areas of the tank. Anything To help ou get the fish out in the open is key

Aqua Medic fish trap. Leave it in your DT for 3-4 days feeding from it everyday and BOOM! No more fish issue;Smuggrin I've caught a couple of hard to get fish this way.

I'm gonna have to try this....unfortunately my Valentini Puffer has to go...I cannot keep a crab or snail in my tank any longer!

The only way I catch fish in smaller tanks, if that is applicable to you. Drain water into containers, corner fish with a clear plastic cup and be done with it. Pour water back into tank.

I wait until the middle of the night and then turn all the lights on full blast. The fish are all blinded and groggy and easier to catch. Doesn't work with all fish (I'm looking at you, damsels) but can help with some.
