Ive noticed that my trigger has been attacking some of my fish, and i would like to get him out of the tank. The thing is that when I'm near the tank he hides in the rock and i cant catch him. Anybody got any ideas?

When I need to catch a fish I had my net ready and would entice my fish with food. Most of the time it worked. Now that some of my fish have gotten used to my hand being in the tank all the time I could catch most of them with my hand.

take the rock out if you can. You may have to squirt him with freshwater to get him to release his trigger and come out of the rock........don't worry triggers are near indestructible.

what kind of trigger is he?

If he has a rock that he hides in and you can remove the rock, take the whole rock out with him in it then remove him. Thats what my Niger Trigger would do and thats how i caught him every time.

You might try a fish trap. If that don't work you will probaly have to remove some rock. It is hard to catch fish out of a reef they are very smart. Good luck.

Its a niger trigger. Someone told me to get a 2 liter coke bottle and cut it enough so the trigger fits and place food in it so once he swims in the bottle to get out will be difficult since hell have the 2 extra fins up

Might work but I'd try the above methods first.....niger triggers are usually a little nicer than some others but can be nasty....good luck. I've also had luck with fish traps you can purchase online, fishhooks, and baiting them in front of a net as mentioned above.

But when im anywhere near the tank he hides. And he hides just behind a rock not really in a whole

It make take some time for him to get used to your presence and see you as a source of food rather than a threat. If you don't have time to wait you may need to pull out some rock..........sucks I know.

This is how I caught my coral beauty angel fish... I cut the too off, then I cut a hole in the too big enough for the coral beauty to swim through, then put the too back on backwards by stuffing it into the rest if the bottle. Then I out some food in it and because of the awkward shape of the opening the angel was stuck inside...I then put my net in front of the opening just in case the fish figured out how to get out, then just lifted the bottle out and had it. I had been trying or about a week and a half to catch the dang angel and this worked in about fifteen minutes.
