Catching a Wrasse in a DT

What is the best way to catch a Mystery Wrasse in my 90 gallon bowfront DT that has probably 100 lbs of live rock in it? He is a beautiful fish but I am very tired of not being able to have any hermit crabs, shrimp, or sand sifting stars just because of him.

lol by ripping your tank appart. They are smart fish. best thing to do is make a bottle fish trap look on youtube there easy to make. But you have to starve your fish for a few days in order for him to even think about comming close to that trap. I hope all goes well.

i caught my 6-line using this fish trap:

it took several days, and a lot patience, but it works.

that trap was larger than i anticipated, so i ended up fashioning a hangar out of egg crate so i could hang it on the lip of the tank.

as rob&gab said, i had to not feed the reef for 2 - 3 days, and only put a little food in the box. then finally the wrasse was hungry and went for it. then i was able to release the door.

it took total about 6 days. it was about 48 hour before anyone would even go near the trap, getting them to go in it took another 2 full days. my blenny was the first, then my tang. the wrasse was skeptical for days but finally on the 6th day hunger got the better of him.

well your lucky i was trying to make a bottle trap for my wrasse and my dang puffer kept going in the bottle and grabbing all the food... and then swimming back out... QWhat a FAIL ON MY PART.... cause hes soo small.!
