I asked this same question awhile ago on here but I still can't catch the brittle star. It is about 8 inches or more from one leg to another and stays under the main rock in my system most of the time. I can't bride it out with food and I DO NOT want to move rocks around. It only comes out at night about once a week if that and when it does come out it stays in places where I can't get to it.
Any suggestions on catching it will be great!!!!! :)
Thanks

Must be finding enough food... I have one even larger than that and the second I start feeding the tank he comes flying out.
I wish mine did this. My LFS showed my there really big one that comes out as soon as the food hit the water.
Mine is in a 29 gallon so I don't know how it is getting enough food :confused:

A glass jar set on its side at an angle next to the rock. Bait it and wait.

Your try using some Tongs and messing with it. Get it to move where you can get it.
That is what I am trying to do but can't get to him that well. I also need light to see where it is but any light scares it back to its hole.

I might try this. I will need small glass jar because my tank is double sided so the sand be isn't that big.

I actually tried doing something similar to this but I used a plastic bottle with the top cut off. He would not even come out for that. I have baited it with whole raw shrimp, reef frenzy, and nori. Nothing works :mad::mad::mad:

It can be hard some species of brittles almost never leave the rock.

Well if you do move rocks. I like to fill a bucket of tank water with a strong powered to kinda blow the junk out of the rock before putting it back.

I might have to:(:eek::eek::(
I really do not want to move rocks though

Yea likely going to be a hard catch. I have one like that. Only see the legs unless I move a rock.
Mine comes out some but not enough and not far enough :mad::mad::mad:
I love reefing and the rewards but some things can be really frustrating.
