Alright guys! I need ideas. Velvet struck a week ago. I lost about 18 fish. But i still have 2 convict tangs and a 6line wrasse that i cant catch for the life of me. Pulling rock is not an option. Its in a 470g and all the rock and coral is cemented/glued in place. Fish trap hasnt been successful. Lights out-fish are out of sight in the rocks. Any ideas because i need to get these fish out asap!

I've always wondered how to go about this on massive tanks. It's seems nigh impossible for the rock hiding fish. Not sure if this would work, but if you know where they are hiding or sleeping, what about suspending or draping a large mesh net or screen material around the rock work with some room to swim and getting them to swim into it?

With micro fishing is there any risk of the fish swallowing the hook whole? I'd be nervous.

Ive thought about the same thing with a net. I had made one as a tank divider to keep the fish i a smaller area. The issue is it was getting caught up on all the sps. I think im going to try fishing them out!

Maybe try the ol fashion fishing trick. Tiny hook. U can get rid of the barb. Line and bam. I've read people getting it done in seconds

Extremely disappointed that I could not find a video of someone trying to catch anything out of their marine tank this way on youtube..

Decrease water by moving to storage containers/sump. It can stress corals, but at some point there is no place for the fish to go.

Update?

Well im at the point of throwing the infected fish back in with hopes it wipes out all remaining fish!! Tried fish trap again, wont come close. Tried the bottle with inverted neck for the wrasse, nothing. Fishingline/hook. They eat all the seaweed off and then tick off. I really don't want to lower the water level because of the amount of sps in the tank, but im not sure what other options i have?? Night time they hide so far into the rocks, they cant be seen.

I fished mine out when I had velvet - worked like a charm! Put a little krill or something they like on the end.
Just make sure you crimp the barb down before you hook em so they don't get hurt when you take the hook out.
