At 3:00a today my wife wakes me up and says "I think there's a problem, there's water on the floor".

In the end, our cat had apparently pulled the Ca reactor effluent hose out of the sump, and it pumped about six to seven gallons onto the floor.

Lots of lessons learned; about the use of small hose, wood floors, containment (or the lack thereof) salinity, cats, etc..

Ugh!

Jeez! From panic the moment she says water and floor in same sentence, to relief/cat killing anger in like 2 seconds. What a morning lol.

I have 2 cats and 6 tanks. Ive learned to buy "stay away". Even when the Co2 cans run empty they are still scared away by the alarm. Excellent training tool.

MY parrot pulled the hose for the ATO out of the back chamber of my BC when she was trying to take a bath in it. I have an egg crate covering it but that doesn't deter her. Just got some 1/4" netting to make a new cover.

I wouldnt say its a problem but i do find it in all my tanks lol.
cool. yea I have a ragdoll cat, and they do more than just shed. Ive seen it on the rocks before, but normally I think it gets filtered away

Not sure how flea and tick dips effect tanks but my cats are indoor only so i dont dip them.
