Hello everyone. So when I started this 32 gallon tank a few months back I got three types of caulerpa to help green it up a bit. Of the three, the only one to survive was the Peltata. I like how it covers the sand much like a lawn of grass. However I notice it tries to get up to my corals. Normally I remove this, but is it okay if it grows up to meet the GSP? I put the GPS here so that when it blows up, it can take over this rock formation. Would the algae hurt it?

No the Caulerpa wouldn't hurt the GSP by physically touching it. What you will need to look out for is the Caulerpa taking over around the frag. You don't want it to lose space and light. I grow C. mexicana and prolifera and both do fine in my display tank I just trim like I would in freshwater to make it more clean and spacious for my corals.

Note: It is easier to keep trimming as the Caulerpa grows in an area so its not difficult later. Hope this helps.:D

Thanks! I will let it reach over the rock for now. This GPS is being very slow. But I am sure once I get my Alk down to 8 from the 10 it is at, it will grow fast.

Sounds good Caulerpa is definitely my favorite to grow in a display tank. Much variety and different morphs to choose from!
