Come from planted FW world. Need carpet plant. See caulpera volunteering and right size. Grow quick, make happy. Tank theme is garbage. Good carpet plant?

What does "tank theme is garbage" mean??

Caulerpa will work, but it doesn't grow low to the ground like a freshwater carpeting plant. Seagrass would work great, particularly a Halophila species like paddle grass or Johnson's, although seagrasses are almost impossible to get these days.

Here's a plant guide, provided by this site: https://www.live-plants.com/

They're out of stock of most things this time of year unfortunately.

Fair enough, but I already have the caulpera, and it's carpeting nicely. The variety I seem to have is only getting about an inch tall, which is ideal.

I didn't mention it before, but the tank in question is about 9" tall, so any kind of grass is absolutely out of the question.

1" Caulerpa? I'd love to see this, do you have a pic? I wonder if it's really Caulerpa?

My bad, well under 1". Color is a greenish-brown, but more green in another tank. Ignore the fact this tank is going through the ugly phase.

One thing, i know that several states, (Crazy Cali), have banned Caulerpa due to it being "invasive". Thoughts folks?

Oh, and that just means I'm gonna use it as a dumping ground for stuff that disappointed me, but I can't bring myself to throw out. I figure if I put all the stuff I don't like, I'll get a favorite, and then will like something. I'll be opening it up to community garbage disposal when it matures a little.

The orange zoas though are just overflow for now

That's cool, I've never seen that before.
Came as a hitchhiker on some zoas. It's now pretty well imbedded in both my tanks, so I kinda figured I'd just learn to live with it and appreciate it. Not everything unexpected and quick-growing is evil. Aside from mint, chives, and horseradish.

Agree...but why the hate for mint? :D

Growth update. I feel like this stuff moves rapidly, maybe not growing (it is growing very fast), but physical movement. Somehow. There's only a single Stomatella snail in here.
