Let me start off by saying I LOVE the Jebao powerheads. I ordered 2 WP-25's when they first came out and have been using them for the past 7 months. I recently bought the new RW-8 pumps to replace the WP-25's because I like the broader flow design. I removed the old pumps and cleaned them up to get them ready for re-sale and found something pretty alarming. This was only the second time I've ever had to remove them for cleaning in the past 7 months so they were pretty much untouched the entire time. After soaking in vinegar and water for a few hours I pulled them out and noticed there was some damage to the cable on one of the pumps. The part of the pump where the cable enters the pump body was a little rough and other parts of the cable look like they were chewed on. One part even had the internal power wires showing! This was only on one pump and this part of the cable was completely submerged and wasn't touching anything. I don't know if it was caused by the pump or something in the tank chewing on it. I had an urchin for a while that could have munched through the cable. I have owned many powerheads and pumps and have never seen this before.
If you own these pumps it may be worthwhile to check them every week or so just to make sure you don't have any damage. If the power wires are exposed to the tank it could cause some major issues.
Here are some photos of the pump and cable.
