Just bought a CB and my chevron tang is messing with it. It's not constant but every few minutes but nothing bad. My question was should I still try and catch the tang and put him in refugium or see if he eventually stops. Also there's a few tiny little white specs on the CB's tail fins, should I be worried or will this go away.

Thanks!

picture will help identify the spots whether its ich or not.

hopefully they are figuring out the pecking order and it calms down soon. just watch for nipped fins then you may have to take some action

Ok I'll try and get a picture.

It won't let me post pictures, I'll try something else but if that fails I'll pm you my phone number and send through that.

and you can see it in his side fin in this pic.

Sorry for the iPhone quality.

I haven't tried feeding him yet but he's been swimming and picking at all the rock in the tank.

Also want to add there's no spots on the body or inner tail, just the outer edges

From the looks its not serious yet! Get the fish eating see how he reacts the next few days. i just don't wanna say its something its not thought someone would have chimed in.

Thanks! I've seen him picking and eating off the live rock. Hope he eats tonight!! Thanks for the help and hopefully someone will chime in soon!

just for when someone comes its just the white on the fin? or he has white bumps on skin?
#reefsquad ? not sure how to put out the call

Sorry I didn't get an alert for the tag! I don't see any ich here, but there could be some lymph on the edges of the tail. If you can capture a picture that shows exactly what you are seeing, that may help more. I'll tel lyou that the butterfly looks very very skinny so getting him fattened up is priority.

Ok good to hear! I just froze a blend of fresh slaccops, squid, and shrimp that I will start feeding tomorrow and I also just bought clams that I will feed him once a week on sunday. Does that sound like a good plan?

Sure! If he eats it, he will be fat in no time.

There may be one spot on right pectoral fin. watch it closely. Could be ich.

Ive looked for pictures of them with ich and it doesn't usually look like that. I'm guessing it's lymph but I'm not sure lol.

You'll know for sure if it gets larger instead of dropping off after a few days. If it gets larger, then your plan is solid... feed a lot, get him fat with good nutrition and it should go away on it's own. If it stays the same size and drops off after a few days, then it's probably ick.... though you'll also see more of them pop up every so often.
