CB maleficent acro placement?

I bought a CB Maleficent frag from TSA and it is finally encrusted. But I’m not sure if it is a tabling acro. I have it in the center on my rock scape right now. My question, should I move it more to the edge? I hear that it is a tabling acro. Does anyone have a picture of their colony. Just want to see how the growth structure look like. Also what par should I have it at?

It’s a tabling acro but moving it closer to the edge doesn’t mean it will grow out off the edge. I’ve had to cut mine to grow in the direction I want it to grow.

I put mine pretty high up and in the center of the tank. I didn’t know it would table out. I probably need to move it down the road then. Glad I see this post.

Both of mine were never happy until they had opportunity to be in lower par level 250-300. It’s finally displaying vibrant red and good red PE I have 2 two both have similar sentiments about lighting just IME lol. Loves some hardy flow! Before patch almost completely bleached the pictures after it started to come around it use look like it was hanging on by a thread, but now days it’s looking great just waiting for explosive out of the large frag!

I’ll say this much it really just doesn’t tolerate my led bar (SBreef actinic) in placement where it would be directly getting hit. I’ve had it for 20 month it did well started take off with t5 only similar par levels as you mentioned. Quickly went declined post led bar was dormant for almost the entire time up until a few weeks ago. All subjective in the end, but I alway blasted it with light given the results of fellow reefers and “key” to bringing out strongest red being high par level. I’m on the fence.

I got mine about a year ago. Honestly it went threw hell , under radion gen 2 lights it just kinda browned out but showed polyps. Under kessils not much changed , throw in bad swings in alk when I got sick , fast forward to a much more stable tank , better flow and improved lights ( gen 4 pros ) it’s colored up and is starting to show growth. I keep it up high
