I just picked up a CBB and I tested the water from the LFS and it came in at 1.018. My tank is 1.025. I have it on a slow drip to acclimate but this seems like quite a difference in salinity. Given the degree of change I am seeking advice on how long I should take to acclimate.

Would be good to put it in a qt tank and get it eating well before putting in your tank. Mine gets bullied by my yellow tang. It's slowly getting more social.

Thanks Singlefin. He will have a few aptasia to dine on while he adjusts to frozen foods. He did show some interest in the Roggers food at the LFS and was very close to eating. Also was searching the rock in the tank at lfs quite a bit. This one was very social in a tank with 4 tangs all bigger than he. Plenty of hiding places in my 155 too.

Thanks. Definitely taking it slow. Problem is I only have 2 hours of light left. It's been 2 hours now of drip. May reprogram the lights to run longer tonight.
It's not a bad thing to have lights off when introducing a new fish. Just a thought.

+1 It's always best to introduce a new fish to the tank with lights out. It's less stress on the new fish and he's less likely to be attacked by the current inhabitants. I always turn lights off to introduce the new guy and leave them off for at least 4 hours (usually I just leave them off over night)...hard to do bc you want to see your new fish...but well worth it for the survival of the new addition.
